112th Express Entry Draw - Canada Issues 3,350 ITAs - March 07, 2019

The immigration authorities in Canada conducted an Express Entry draw on March 6. They issued 3,350 Invitations to Apply in the category of skilled workers.

The details

There was a drop of three points in the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (454) in comparison to the previous draw. Including this draw, IRCC has issued 17,850 ITAs in 2019. The target in Canada for 2019 for high-skilled immigration is 81,400. In 2018 the performance was 89,800 which is a record.  This draw was the fifth under Express Entry for the present year and overall it was 112th.

Facts regarding the Express Entry

The Express Entry system is implemented by the Canadian immigration authority – IRCC. It commenced on January 1, 2015, and manages applications of the skilled worker in the Federal Economic programs. These are:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program,
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program
  • Canada Experience Class and finally
  • Parts of the Provincial Nomination Programs

Furthermore, the Experts hope to see close to 30 draws where around 80,000 invitations will be issued in 2019. Additionally, the majority of these draws will feature CRS scores lower than 450 to help the immigration authorities in meeting the annual immigration target levels for the year.
