On April 17 Canada held the Eighth Express Entry draw for the year and the 115th Canada Express Entry Draw so far. It issued 3,350 ITAs to the candidates for immigration. It had a CRS cut-off limit of 451 that is similar to the previous draw of April 3. Another feature was the tie-break application permitting the candidates with a score of 451 CRS points to receive the ITA. The condition was having a profile in the Express Entry pool prior to 2nd April 2019 -15:01:49 UTC.

2019 is a remarkable year for Express Entry as IRCC has issued 27,900 invitations so far.

Express Entry score below 450

This draw was the fourth where the CRS cut-off mark went down or was steady. The candidates must also note that this threshold is staying higher than the 450 level. Moreover, it is also possible that in the future draws candidates with a score below 450 may receive an invitation.

Furthermore, IRCC has a target for admitting many immigrants using the Express Entry in the present year and also in the future.

The government of Canada on Oct- 31, 2018, revealed a Canada Immigration Levels Plan for 2019-2021. It has a commitment to accept more professionals by using the Federal Express Entry Immigration Programs. These are the:

  • Federal Skilled Trades Class
  • Canadian Experience Class and finally
  • Federal Skilled Worker Class,

Collectively these will attract 256,000 in three years. The target for permanent residents is 200,000 to settle by using the Provincial Nominee Programs before December 2021.

Also, there is a benefit to the Express Entry candidates from when they obtain the provincial nomination through a stream aligned with the Express Entry.

Moreover, there were a few Express Entry changes owing to which many candidates who pursue their studies in Canada got the Canada PR invitation. Those changes helped global students/graduates in Canada to have better CRS.

Canada will issue more invitations in the future also which will benefit families and individuals also.

About CRS

The CRS   is a score from 1,200 points that serves as a benchmark for the applicants in the federal economic programs. The score is the cut-off point for the Express Entry draws. Such Candidates who gain the provincial nomination in a stream that is aligned with the Express Entry receive additional 600 CRS points. Finally, they can get the ITA in an ensuing draw. A single candidate gets 260 points for proficiency in English/French, and a couple gains 270 points.
