Effective 1 August 2015, Austria has agreed to onset a relaxed visa regime to grant Austria business visas. During the initial pilot phase, the new rules will be applicable China, Indonesia and India.
An MOU to this move was signed mutually between leading authorities like Federal Ministry of Interior, Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration & Foreign Affairs, Federal Ministry of the Science, Research & Economy and the Federal Chamber of Commerce.
The new rule envisions allowing Austrian Trade Commissioners in these nations to suggest grant of visas to bonafied business visitors, mostly abolishing the need of other supporting credentials. Visas for business visitors are likely to be granted in a period less than five working days as well as would also have long validity periods.
For the new travelers who are visiting Austria for the first time, Austria business visas are issued for a validity period of six months and for the second time visitors visa is granted for period of three years and for other a maximum of five years.
This latest plan reveals Austria’s recognition of China, Indonesia and India as trustworthy and significant business partners.
