Latest Immigration News
In January 2019 the Canadian Government and the provinces of the country opened the door for 40,000 applicants for Canada Immigration. The programs involved family sponsorship and economic immigration which are the major components of immigration levels plan pursued by Canada. It also has a target of attracting 331,000 new Canada PR for 2019. The target in 2020 will be 341,000 and in 2021 it will reach 350,000, to attain the one percent mark of the Canadian population. This Canada immigration rate is vital to ensure the continuous growth of the labor force and economy in the future.

Many new immigrants will arrive through various economic programs, managed by the Provincial Nominee Programs and Express Entry Draw. The EE system is a principal source to attract skilled overseas labor. It expedites applications seeking the Canada permanent residence from talented candidates to integrate at a fast pace in the labor market.

In January the Express Entry system had a record big start by issuing 11,150 ITAs seeking the PR in Canada. Moreover, these are based on the CRS score of a candidate, which considers work experience, age, education, and proficiency in French/English. This record in ITA in January follows the issuing of 89,800 invitations in 2018 in the Express Entry system. This was also a record in its history.

Other developments

Canada also has a high admissions target for 2019 for its three economic immigration programs in the Express Entry system. Experts are expecting that there will be a new record in this year. The Provincial Nominee Programs of Canada also made a major contribution in January. These Programs allow the participating provinces/territories to seek the nomination of a fixed number of immigration candidates to get the permanent residence. Furthermore, various provinces like Manitoba, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island issued 5,000 invitations to apply to immigration candidates, to seek the provincial nominations in January.

PGP is attractive

Also, a major factor in January was the reopening of Parents and Grandparents Program, to seek new EOI. This Program serves as an opportunity to citizens and permanent residents having the eligibility to sponsor their parents/grandparents and also seek permanent residence for them. The process had the necessity to complete an Interest to Sponsor form, which was available on January 28 on basis of the timing of arrival.  The target for IRCC was to receive 27,000 expressions of interest for this program. Moreover, it attained it within a few minutes.

Additionally in the next step is that the eligible interested sponsors get an invitation to apply to the program. IRCC issues these invitations in the order of receiving Interest to Sponsor forms. Canada stresses Family reunification as it plays a necessary role to attract, retain and integrate newcomers. This also helps them to build a successful life in Canada.
