Candidates having specific work experience invited in Saskatchewan EOI Draw -19th April, 2019

Saskatchewan EOI Draw

On April 17 Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program conducted its first Expression of Interest draw. This was for the immigration candidates who have sufficient work experience in a specific top demand occupation.  Three targeted occupations were added in the provincial In-demand Occupations List.

Work experience in a job present on the list is an essential requirement in Express Entry as well as in Occupation In-Demand sub-categories. These sub-categories do not require a job offer. The SINP is a vibrant part of Provincial Nominee Programs, which permits nominating specific immigration candidates from the participating provinces/territories to obtain the Canada PR each year.

4 occupations targeted in April 17 EOI draw

324 candidates received the invitations in the Express Entry /Occupation In-Demand categories after work experience in these occupations.

The Program also stated that it may select aspirants from its Expression of Interest system that manages the pool of Express Entry candidates and Occupation In-Demand categories. Moreover, the Candidates get 600 additional points in their rank score that serves as a guarantee to get an ITA for Canadian PR. The eligibility requires separate registration of the candidates with the SINP.

The decline in Minimum score

All Eligible candidates of the EOI system in the SINP also get a score from 100 points. These are based on age, education, work experience, and English/French proficiency. There are points also for the connections of the candidate with Saskatchewan. Invitations are usually issued to the candidates with the top rank. The cut-off score in this draw was 60 for the Express Entry as well as and Occupation In-Demand sub-category.

Revision of In-Demand Occupations List

The SINP announced the removal of the four occupations that were the focus of the draw on April 17. Moreover, the candidates who obtained an ITA before the removal of the occupation from the existing list can apply to seek the provincial nomination for PR.

There are 20 occupations in the new list now.
