Manitoba Holds New Provincial Immigration Draw to Attract Overseas Candidates
Manitoba immigration conducted its new PNP draw on April 11 with an exclusive focus on the Skilled Workers Overseas stream.

Additionally, in this 63rd draw, 403 candidates received Letters of Advice for Applying in two pathways. 352 LAAs were issued in its Human Capital Pathway, and the qualifying candidate had a low score of 561 marks.

The requirements for the candidates are as under:

  • Either possessing an  Express Entry ID and job-seeker validation code, accompanied with 6 months of job experience in a top demand job in the Occupations list of Manitoba 
OR
  • Having a near relative in the province or any type of education and a good work experience
  • Also, having six months of  experience in a top demand job
  • Meeting the norms of language

51 candidates also obtained the LAAs in the Strategic Initiative at a score of 695. They get the invitation to fulfill a specific need of the labor market.

Moreover, in the draw, held earlier, nearly 600 candidates received the LAA. In the March 28 draw 262 LAAs were issued in the Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream, where the score of the lowest-rank candidate stood at 433 points. 260 LAAs were issued in the HCP candidates of the SWO stream at a low score of 563. 44 candidates belonging to the International Education Stream received the LAA. Furthermore, 29 candidates got the LAA in SRI, where the lowest score was 719 points.

Moreover, the Qualifying norms reflect the specific needs of Manitoban employers. SWM prefers workers receiving overseas training who have the skills and also nominates them for seeking Canada PR. The stream also gives a priority to such candidates who have an attachment to the province.

1. Manitoba Work Experience Pathway

It caters to applicants who at present work within the province on a temporary work-permit, in its Temporary Foreign Worker Program or as international graduates belonging to any province. Moreover, they do not need performing in a work in its top Demand Occupation list.

2. Employer Direct Recruitment Pathway

It caters to overseas applicants with a job offer from an approved local employer.

Qualifying For the Skilled Worker Overseas Stream

The Skilled Worker Overseas Stream includes has a Canada Express Entry Pathway and the provincial pathway (direct).

It serves global skilled workers possessing the finest skills and training in a top Demand Occupation. It also gives a Priority to applicants/spouses having a near family connection, added with proficiency in a language, good training, and sufficient experience to get a job quickly.

1. Manitoba Express Entry Pathway

It serves such global candidates who are eligible in another stream of Manitoba PNP, and additionally meet the criteria besides having an active Express Entry profile. Candidates also need training, skills, and experience in a top Demand Occupation, besides a family connection with the province.

2. Human Capital Pathway

It serves international workers possessing the necessary experience skills and training in a top Demand Occupation. Candidates should find employment soon after arriving in the province.

Requirements

The International Education Stream manages international graduates from the provincial colleges/universities. There are three pathways in it:

1) Career Employment Pathway 

Eligibility requirements are:

  • Completing one-year course from a post-secondary  institution in three years of submitting the application.
  • Having a  job offer (full-time)in a top Demand occupation relevant  to the completed degree
  • Being a Resident of Manitoba

2) Graduate Internship Pathway

Masters/ Doctoral degree that complete Mitacs Accelerate / Elevate internships are eligible to seek nomination through internships even when not having a provincial job offer.

3) Student Entrepreneur Pathway

Eligibility requirements are:

  • Completing  two-year from an eligible post-secondary  institution
  • Six months of operating business  experience locally
  • Being a Resident of Manitoba since completing graduation.
  • There is no specific requirement of personal net worth
