IRCC used its tie-break rule in this draw. Moreover it used the tie-break date and time mechanism for this invitation round, which was January 28th, 2018 at 21:06:11 UTCC. This emphasizes the fact that all candidates who had a CRS score of and above 442, and who submitted their profile prior to this specific date and time, obtained an ITA in the present round.

The large size of the draw in combination with the comparatively short duration between two draws reduced the score by nine points from the previous score of 451 of June 20th draw.

Canada has increased the target for number of candidates to welcome by using the Express Entry. It presently stands at 74,900 in 2018 and 81,400 in 2019.

Presently the Canada Express Entry draws are large and more frequent, but IRCC still has to go far to surpass the ITAs which were issued in 2017. In 2018, IRCC has issued 39,700 Invitations totally. Couples holding a bachelor’s degree, software engineers with three year experience stand a better chance to get an ITA. Besides, candidates having advanced proficiency in English language also qualify.
