Saskatchewan Expression of Interest Immigration Draw - 138 Candidates receive Invitations - March 08, 2019

The immigration authorities in Saskatchewan conducted a draw on March 6, 2019, and issued invitations to 138 skilled workers through two Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program streams.

The details

70 invitations were issued to the provincial Express Entry candidates, and the requirement was a minimum score of only 67 points. Moreover, 68 invitations were issued to the Occupations In-Demand candidates, and the requirement was a minimum score of only 81 points.

All invited candidates had the Educational Credential Assessment, which is necessary for the applications. The province also plans to hold one draw for every month. Saskatchewan has so far conducted 10 draws in the EOI system, after its launch in 2018. In the previous draw, held on Feb 27, 2019, 83 candidates received the invitation in the Saskatchewan Express Entry. The candidate with the lowest rank had a score of 68 points.

The Process for Saskatchewan EOI:

1.    Submitting the EOI profile,

2.    Entering the EOI candidate pool,

3.    Selection of EOI candidates,

4.    Invitations issued through regular draws,

5.    Candidates submit entire set of application in 60 days, and finally,

6.    Program officials assess the applications and take a decision,

The Requirements for the Occupation-In-Demand Sub-Category

  • A Score of 60 points on the points-assessment grid;
  • Having a language score of CLB 4. Moreover the regulatory bodies and Employers can ask for higher scores;
  • Completion of one year of post-secondary training /apprenticeship or education, comparable to the education system in Canada.
  • All Degrees/diplomas obtained outside of Canada require the Educational Credential Assessment;
  • One year of work experience in the last ten years In your field of education /training, and
  • In an occupation in NOC A, B, 0 appearing on the in-demand occupation list.
  • Obtaining the proper license in the province if it is a field requirement. Additionally, the authorities do not process an application which does not have a license.
  • Proof of settlement funds also accompanied by a Settlement Plan and finally,
  • Paying a $300 application fee online (non-refundable).

Requirements for the Provincial Express Entry Sub-Category

All Candidates from areas other than Canada, or having a legal status in Canada, meet the qualifying norms for the immigration category if they are not refugee claimants.

Additionally, these candidates must have:

  • A profile in the Express Entry Pool, with its number and also a job seeker validation code;
  • A score of 60 points on the points-assessment grid;
  • Providing valid language test results from a testing agency (designated0 matching with the Express Entry profile;
  • Completion of one year of post-secondary training /apprenticeship or education, comparable to the education system in Canada.
  • All Degrees/diplomas obtained outside of Canada require the Educational Credential Assessment;
  • Having One-year work experience in the last 10 years in a skilled profession for a non-trade category; or
  • Two years of work experience in a skilled trade in the last five years; or
  • One year of work experience in the country in the last three years (for trade as well as non-trade categories).
  • Having work experience in a top occupation also appearing in NOC A/ B/or 0 in the in-demand occupation list.
  • Obtaining the proper license in the province if it is a field requirement. Additionally, skilled trades need a certificate from the Provincial Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission.
  • Proof of settlement funds also accompanied by a Settlement Plan and finally,
  • Paying a $300 application fee online (non-refundable).
