World’s Best Technology Workers Targeted by Stream of Canada’s Global Talent

Rewind to 2016 and the tech industry of Canada was striving to select the best-skilled workers to assist start-up businesses to develop. Then along appeared the Stream of Global Talent Canada.

The all-too-familiar story seen businesses recognize foreign skilled workers, begin the paperwork, but the processing could take so long, the talent of in-demand would be fascinated elsewhere.

The community of business demanded the Canadian government to do something on it. Fast-forward to 2018 and a year after the Stream of Global Talent began, work permits for the various in-demand tech jobs are processed in the span of two weeks.

Technology Talent Shortage in Canada

Canada’s has numerous famous universities contributing extremely marketable degrees programs in tech-based. However, many of the best graduates have traditionally been attracted continuously to Silicon Valley to work for tech giants in the U.S.

With Donald Trump breaking down on immigration and renegotiating N.A.F.T.A, this is turning. However, for the time being, the deficit exists, with a labor demand gap going into hundreds of thousands of openings projected by 2020. Canada is operating to plug this break utilizing policies of skilled worker migration.

Problem with The Canadian Old System

Earlier, and with some exceptions, tech talent developed in through the corresponding general streams as additional skilled workers. For work permits, that involved the Program of Temporary Foreign Worker and the unwieldy process of L.M.I.A.

L.M.I.A Processing would need more than a year, generally too prolonged for in-demand skilled workers to bent about. Even the L.M.I.A cleared positions included below the Program of International Mobility could see long times of processing for many reasons.

Global Talent Stream Change

The launch of the Global Talent Stream in June 2017 viewed policies of the government assigned to processing applications Canada inside in two weeks for the several positions in-demand.

It also observed the commitment to a higher client-focused strategy by the Canadian government, leading employers by the process of application.
