International Graduate Entrepreneur

Nova Scotia colleges and universities are educating 7000 international students. International students from attractive pool of potential immigrants. International graduate entrepreneur is open to all graduates who have completed at least 2 years of full time study from a recognized Nova Scotia community college or Nova Scotia university. International Graduate Entrepreneur Stream will start from 1st January 2016.

Nomination process:

There are four steps to the nomination process:

Submitting an EOI (Expression of Interest) to the province of Nova Scotia:

Many applicants have interest in immigrating to Nova Scotia by completing an EOI in the form of short online survey. Applicant must also provide about age, education, language, adaptability, work experience. Only applicants who meet the minimum criteria can submit an expression of interest.  

Invitation to apply:

Top scoring applicant will be notified by Nova Scotia office of immigration that they are being invited to submit a formal application to the Nova Scotia nominee program.

Request for nomination:

Once an applicant has been assessed and is deemed to meet the criteria of the program. He/she will be nominated for PR by Nova Scotia under the Nova Scotia nominee program.

Applying for Permanent Residency:

The applicant will apply to immigration and citizenship Canada for permanent residency status.

Fees:

There are no fees for the international graduate entrepreneur stream. However the applicant will be required to provide supporting documentation that will require fees.

Minimum Eligibility criteria:

  • Applicant must settle in Nova Scotia while they establish their eligible business
  • Applicant must be 21 year of age
  • During academic program applicant must settle in Nova Scotia full time.
  • Applicant must demonstrate proficiency in one of Canada’s official language
  • Applicants must own 100 percent of the equity of the eligible business and provide active and ongoing participation in the day to day management and direction of the business.

Eligibility criteria for business:

  • The business must be operated for the purpose of making a profit
  • Businesses must meet the legal requirements of the community
  • Applicants must settle in Nova Scotia and operate your business and be involved its day to day management.
